Transit

A current planetary movement against your natal chart.

Definition

A transit is the position of a planet in the sky right now, read in relation to the planets and points of your natal chart. Transits are how astrologers describe what is happening for you in any given week, month, or year.

In context

Transits are read by overlaying the current sky on top of the natal chart and noting which natal positions are being contacted. A Saturn transit to a personal planet, for example, is one of the classical signatures of a season of consolidation and reckoning. Transit windows can last days, months, or years depending on the planet involved.
