Natal Chart
The sky at the moment of your birth.
Definition
A natal chart is a diagram of the sky at the exact moment and place of your birth. It shows the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, and key calculated points such as the Ascendant, Midheaven, and the lunar nodes against the twelve signs of the zodiac and the twelve houses.
In context
The natal chart is the foundational document of any astrological reading. Every personal interpretation, from sun-sign description to transit forecast, is read against the original natal chart. A correct natal chart requires the date, time, and place of birth, since the Ascendant and the house positions depend on the exact moment.
